sexist.
(and i guess it’s a double standard too because whenever guys get drunk and score it’s like… a good thing. but whenever girls get drunk and score it’s like… rape.)
I understand where you’re coming from…kind of. You’re all for gender equality and also a bit against feminism. HOWEVER, you should really read up on their goals and such. They’re trying to reduce sexual violence. Not limited to only women. This is just a campaign they ran.
Not sexist…at all.
My problem with this campaign is that their message is gender neutral (i.e. “sex without consent = sexual assault”), but the whole ad is against men. As in they’re trying to decrease sexual assault by pinning it against males. Pretty sure that’s some level of sexism.
Statistically speaking sexual assault is women dominated. I know that, but at the same time men can get raped too. I feel like male rape is too taboo to be talked about and so it just ends up being funny to everyone.
It’s like I’m glad there’s campaigns like this that help women. I am, but I’m just not happy with them defacing guys in the process when guys need help too.
Also I read their goals and I like them, but so far they’ve only had one campaign (don’t be that guy). So what they’re saying is great, but what they’ve actually done is alienate guys into thinking they’re predators. gg
I don’t mean to double team you here, so sorry if it seems that way.
The point of the ad is to educate men, not pin all sexual assault on them. It kind of seems like you’re taking it the wrong way. It’s like those Above the Influence posters; Kids, don’t smoke weed because it’s bad for you. It’s intended audience is teens and so the ads give examples of common situations that normal teens may come across. It’s not saying “all teens smoke weed.” Just like this ad says; Guys, don’t have sex without consent. The intended audience is men and it brings up an example of a common situation that a man might come across. It’s not saying “all men take advantage of drunk women.”
